Editorial Policy & Disclosures

GastroVerdict publishes independent restaurant reviews written by real diners. This page explains how we work and how we keep our coverage trustworthy.

Independence statement

GastroVerdict is editorially independent. No restaurant, brand, agency, or third party has any influence over our reviews, ratings, or rankings. We do not accept payment, gifts, or comped meals in exchange for coverage. Reviewers pay their own bills and visit anonymously whenever possible.

No paid placements

We do not publish sponsored reviews, advertorials, or "pay-to-play" listings. Restaurants cannot purchase a review, a higher rating, or removal of a published review. Any future advertising on the site will be clearly labeled as "Advertisement" or "Sponsored" and will be visually separated from editorial content.

How we report

• Reviewers visit at their own expense and identify themselves as ordinary guests.
• We score on cooking, service, atmosphere, value, and consistency.
• High-profile restaurants receive at least two independent visits before publication.
• We disclose when a review is based on a single visit.

Affiliate links and advertising

We currently use no affiliate links. If we add affiliate links or display advertising in the future, we will disclose this clearly on every page that contains them, and editorial decisions will remain independent of any commercial relationship.

Corrections

We correct factual errors promptly. If you spot one, please write to us and we will update the review with a dated correction note.

Author identity

Reviews are signed with the author's first name and last initial to protect their ability to visit anonymously. The editorial team verifies each contributor's identity internally.
